There’s nothing more disappointing than doing your best to take care of your cannabis plants only to end up with fewer yields. Fortunately, there are some ways to maximize cannabis yields.

Over the years, many cannabis growers have figured out ways to nurture their plants and get their desired yields. Regardless of your experience as a cannabis grower or whether you’re growing cannabis outdoors or indoors, make sure to keep the following tips and tricks in mind to regularly achieve better cannabis yields:

  1. Have A Proper Lighting Setup

Like any other plant, cannabis plants require plenty of light. In fact, your lighting setup has a big impact on your yields.

With this in mind, be sure to find the best LED lights when growing your cannabis plants. Also, don’t forget to evenly distribute the light. By doing so, the plant may offer better bud production.

  1. Pick A High Yield Strain

Every cannabis gene and strain vary in some way–others grow tall, while some grow wide. The same goes for the amount that particular strains can produce. Other strains can genetically grow high yields, while some won’t.

Therefore, one of the ways to increase your cannabis yields is to select a strain that’s known for producing a high amount of yields. This is especially true if you’re growing cannabis plants to take advantage of the positive effects of CBD oil.

  1. Try Pruning

Pruning is the same as trimming, which is a method that’ll help you boost your cannabis yields by shifting all of the energy of your plants to bud production by getting rid of the extra foliage. This method is quite simple, but only a few cannabis growers follow it.

By cutting extra leaves, you’ll expose the bud sites of your plants to more light. Also, as the cannabis plants don’t have to support that extra foliage’s growth, it’ll grow a much bigger main cola and grow more buds.

When you properly prune your cannabis plants, the quality and yield of your cannabis plants will surely improve.

  1. Use Proper Container Size

If your containers are bigger, your plants will also grow bigger. On the other hand, when you’re using small containers to save floor space, you’re reducing the yields you can get. This is because small containers restrict the plant’s overall size and its roots.

In addition, small plants in big pots may not also grow properly. That’s the reason why most growers consider transplanting throughout the life cycle of their cannabis plants to increase yields. With this method, your plants can maximize their growth and get better yields in the long run.

  1. Pay Importance To Your Cannabis Plant’s Nutrients

Adequate nutrition is very important in terms of growing cannabis plants. But several growers tend to take this advice too seriously and often end up giving their plants too much.

Keep in mind that providing too little or too much nutrition is a perfect recipe for disaster. You can determine whether a plant is overfed or underfed by noticing various things, such as discoloration, leaf curling, or even death. This issue is also called nutrient burn. Just like you should avoid filling your plates with countless vitamin pills, you must also avoid giving your plants more nutrients than they could handle.

If your cannabis plant’s leaves are bright green, you can be sure that your plants don’t have any problems.

  1. Proper Timing Is The Key When Harvesting

One of the common mistakes of some growers is harvesting their cannabis too soon. Although it’s normal to get excited about harvesting your cannabis plants, you might lose out on your plant’s potential when you harvest too early.

The right harvest time basically depends on various factors, such as the grower’s determined THC level in the plant, color of the pistils, and color of the trichomes. After you’re done harvesting, it’s also crucial to dry and cure your bud, so it’ll lose some of the wet weight. But don’t let it dry too much to the point that it may crumble.

When you determine your preferred moisture level in your first harvested, dried, and cured cannabis, you can then size up your yield and cultivate your own cannabis plants successfully.

  1. Optimize Your Growing Environment

No cannabis plants can thrive and survive in an environment that isn’t well-suited for growth. By maintaining the proper balance of humidity and temperature, your plants can fatten up the buds for bigger yields.

By controlling humidity and temperature properly, you can boost the potency and smell of your buds at harvest. If there’s a source of heat that’s harming the plants, you’ll know it since the leaves closest to the problem’s source will become brownish and wilt.

Conclusion

Growing cannabis isn’t a simple task. It takes money, effort, and time to achieve great results. But with the tips and tricks above, you’ll be able to maximize your cannabis yields. The only thing that you should do is to implement the above tips properly and make small changes in your techniques.
